Below are the current requirements for a prospective client to be admitted to any of our residential treatment programs. If you have further questions please do not hesitate to contact Kris Holder at (307) 672-2044 (extension 209) or e-mail kholder@voawymt.org.

  • Prospective clients are required to have an ASI (Addiction Severity Index) and ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) based chemical dependency evaluation before being considered for admission. This can be done at most mental health centers, counseling centers and substance abuse facilities. All clients are required to have a physical completed by a physician prior to admission that states the person is physically fit for treatment.  If an assessment or physical has already been completed, it must have been done in the previous 60 days to be current.
  • VOA operates on a sliding fee scale for Wyoming residents.  Cost for treatment is determined based on the individual’s income.  We can make financial arrangements for those in need.
  • VOA's program is unique in that it offers individualized treatment.  The length of stay at WYSTAR is determined by our clinical staff and is based on each client's needs. The average length of stay is 95 days.  The length of stay is unknown at admission; the client will be evaluated as they progress in treatment.
  • The waiting time to be admitted into treatment depends on when we have a bed space available.  The time frame can vary from day to day depending on cancellations, etc.  You may expect to wait as little as a week or as long as two months from the first time you contact us.  This also depends greatly on the length of time it takes for the prospective client to get the necessary information to our Admission Specialist for review.  This includes an ASI and ASAM based chemical dependency assessment and a basic physical completed by a physician as mentioned previously.
