Volunteers of America Appoints New Division Director

 

May 6, 2009 (Sheridan, WY) – Volunteers of America Wyoming & Montana promoted Beth Marty, Clinical Program Director for their women’s substance abuse and recovery program (The Gathering Place), to Division Director for the organization.

 

Marty brings more than a decade of experience in counseling and working with disadvantaged populations to this position.  Effective May 15th, she will take over responsibility for oversight of operations for Volunteers of America’s WYSTAR programs, the Sheridan Community Shelter, as well as Freedom Hall, Volunteers of America’s new 10-bed transitional living facility for homeless veterans scheduled to open in July.

 

“We are very proud of Beth and her accomplishments with the organization and look forward to celebrating the successes to come as she moves into her new role,” said Jeffrey M. Holsinger, President  & CEO for Volunteers of America Wyoming & Montana.  “We are excited about the future of the organization and in this position Beth will play a major role in our growth and direction.”

 

Marty received her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas in 1999 and received her licensure as a Professional Counselor in the state of Wyoming in 2004.  She started with WYSTAR in July 2000 until the merger between that organization and Volunteers of America in 2008.

 

“I enjoy working with the women at the Gathering Place and seeing them graduate successfully from the program”, expressed Marty.  “I have a passion for working with women in addiction and look forward to the challenges and rewards of helping even more individuals in need.”

 

Marty moved to Sheridan in 1993 and she and her husband, Jeremy, have two children, Allison and Hampton.  Marty is currently a board member for Sheridan’s Dog & Cat Shelter.
